Let's turn back the clock to 1995 — the last time I was in LA, when I knew I'd love it but was too intimidated to uproot my life in NYC.

Little did I know that 21 years later — after a long detour through London — I'd finally make it.
It wasn't all great. But much of it was life-changing, for sure.

I met and worked with some incredible people. I lived in the Spider-Man maker's house, under the Hollywood sign — thanks to a fellow Floridian who became a friend. I found a community of yogis that built on my practice like never before. I went to amazing places — Big Sur, high up in the mountains — and fell in love with it, over and over. Life was as it should be. Magical.
Here's the part I didn't expect.
Writing this — trying to find the words for why LA mattered so much — something surfaced. It was on my vision board for 2017.

L.A. storey. Permanent Vacation. L.A. CONFIDENTIAL. Transform Yourself.
I just realized that. Right now. Writing this.
But it wasn't just the words. It was all of it — the yoga, the cycling, the mountains, the open water, the spin classes, the long slow mornings. I didn't pin a city. I pinned the exact life I was about to live — and then forgot I'd drawn the map at all.
I'd cut it, pasted it, meant every piece of it — and buried it so deep that living the whole dream never once reminded me it was there. It took sitting down to write it down for it to come back.
I used to make a vision board every year. This was my last one. And I'm sure LA will appear again.
That's what the page does, if you let it. It hands you back the things you knew before you knew them.
What have you already called that you've since forgotten?
Sometimes the only way to find out is to start writing it down.

living the dream view of all views!
